NC Photographer gets Big News

Surprise! We are expecting in August 2021. Bet you were not expecting that from this photographer who is finally back home in NC. 

Let me start by saying that we are very excited to be adding to the Barton family.

Grayson is super excited to be getting a new baby in the house. As soon as he heard the news he started trying to push the baby out of mommy’s belly. We’re working on patience. He doesn’t quite understand why this is taking so long. Recently, we made progress, and he is beginning to say “is the baby still growing?”

Excitement aside, this was also a shock. We were not expecting to be expecting. I have always had this dream of adopting my second child. I know I can still adopt in the future, but the point is, getting pregnant wasn’t the plan. (Alert! I am about to share something personal.) I met the man who I call Dad when I was 8 years old. I still remember the day I asked him if I could call him Dad. We may not be blood, but my sister and I are his children. Building this relationship gave me this realization that while this man was put into our life to complete our family, I could one day give a child a family and show them the love that they are missing. I hope that this is in God’s plan for me.

Seeing that line show up was a shock! But… I already love my surprise baby and I know that the rest of the family does too.

I will end with this. Grayson has this perfect little cowlick that I adore, and I can’t help but wonder… will the new baby get this cowlick? Just letting y’all know I am hoping for a cowlick, but even if the new baby don’t have one, this baby is already so loved.
